Ghost Detection and Removal for High Dynamic Range Images: Recent Advances

A standard and commonly used approach to obtain an HDR image is the multiple exposures fusion technique which consists of combining multiple images of the same scene with varying exposure times. However, if the scene is not static during the sequence acquisition, moving objects manifest themselves as ghosting artefacts in the final HDR image. Automatic orientation and 3D modelling from markerless rock art imagery

This paper investigates the use of two detectors and descriptors on image pyramids for automatic image orientation and generation of 3D models. The detectors and descriptors replace manual measurements and are used to detect, extract and match features across multiple imagery. The Scale-Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) and the Speeded Up Robust Features (SURF) will be assessed based on speed, number of features, matched features, and precision in image and object space depending on the adopted hierarchical matching scheme. International audience; The three-dimensional reconstruction of real objects is an important topic in computer vision. Most of the acquisition systems are limited to reconstruct a partial view of the object obtaining in blind areas and occlusions, while in most applications a full reconstruction is required.
